Basic Rifle Safety and Marksmanship Course
(4H and BSA Merit Badge
Program)
When: beginning Monday Sept. 10 or Thursday, Sept. 13
One night a week for seven weeks. Time: 6:30 P.M..
Where: “the Garage” off of Shades Crest Rd. near Morgan
Rd.
Who: Any youth age 9-19
What to bring: Nothing—all
equipment, ammunition and targets
will be provided.
The course curriculum will be the NRA Basic
Rifle and 4H Rifle
curriculum which meets and exceeds the requirements for the BSA Rifle
Merit Badge and 4H shooting sports. Participants will learn basic firearm
safety, maintenance and marksmanship using target BB guns
and air rifles on an indoor range. Students will learn the four shooting
positions commonly used in rifle competition. Participants who complete the
class are eligible to join the Shelby County Shooting Sports Association Youth
Rifle team (www.shelbyshootingsports.org).
Registration: Course fee is $30.00 per person. Course is limited to the

on Morgan Rd. Turn Left onto South
Shades Crest Rd. Go approximately
4 miles and turn Left onto Pleasant
Place. The garage is about 1/8 mile
on the Left.
