3/8 Scale, 22 Rifle, Fun Silhouette Match
Sunday
afternoon following the first Saturday of the month
Equipment:
Open to any rifle chambered for only factory loaded .22 caliber
short, long or long rifle rim-fire cartridges. Hot loads, such as
"Stingers", are not permitted.
Any trigger
not subject to accidental discharge. In the event of accidental
discharge, the Range Officer shall require trigger adjustment or
replacement of the rifle.
Competition
is open to all competitors. Entry fee is five dollars for match.
Competitors
must be at the range in time to attend the safety meeting at
approximately 1:40 p.m. to compete in the match. 1st relay starts
at 2:00 p.m. Range will be open around 12:00 pm to set up targets,
any help is appreciated. A short practice session will be held
after targets have been set. Remember, as you arrive at the range
and see people setting targets, “The Line is Cold” and there
is no handling of firearms, until everyone returns and the range
command is given to move your equipment. The match will be run as a
“Fun Match” but safety will apply at all times. Eye and hearing
protection is required on all SCSSA ranges. Empty chamber
indicators will be required. If you are not a member of SCSSA you
must have a signed SCSSA liability waiver on file to shoot.
NRA Rifle
Silhouette rules will apply whenever possible
"Firing Position is “OFFHAND” shooting in the standing
position, no propping, no leaning, and no slings."
Course of
fire: the course of fire will consist of forty targets, one shot per
target. Score is derived as the number of targets knocked off the
rail. The targets will be in banks of five you will have 2 min. to
engage these five targets. The distances are as follows; ten shots
each on; chickens at 40 meters, pigs at 50 meters, turkeys at 72
meters, and rams at 100 meters. Have your equipment sighted for
these distances. Each competitor will be required to score and set
targets.
Iron Sight
rule; iron sight shooter will receive an additional, sixth shoot per
bank of five targets. Sixth shoots are none accumulative and in
cases of shoot-offs no additional shoots are provided.
Categories:
Junior – A person between the ages of 15 and 17
Sub Junior – A
person between the ages of 13 and 14, many chose to prop or rest
on the ledge attached to the front post of the firing line
Junior and Sub
Junior shooter shall be accompanied by an adult when on the range.
Awards: there
will be an overall Match Winner
Then Classification will be broken out per match as follows;
1-10, 11-15,
16-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31-35, & 36-40
Junior and Sub
Junior
Class winner
in each class with min. of 3 competitors
2nd place in class with min. of 4 competitors in class
3rd place in class with 6 or more competitors in class
Ties will be
settled with single elimination shoot-offs. Shoot offs will be shot
at the turkey line.
The match
fee is $5.00
Approximately
½ of the entry fees will be awarded as prizes.
