SCSSA BPCR SILHOUETTE MATCH INFORMATION
Date: 1st Saturday of each month (no match in July)
Contact: Don Murphree at 205-337-3237 or
scssabpcr@att.net
Location: Hoover, Alabama (see the map below)
Steel City Sports Shooting Association-Brocks Gap Training Center (www.scssa.org)
Range E
Gate opens at 7 AM Central Time

Weather: Because we are now shooting prone on the ground in the
open rain will affect the match. If there is a high probability of
rain we may not be able to shoot. Check the weather websites for zip
code 35226. We will try to shoot whenever possible but tornado
watches and severe thunder storm warnings will justify canceling the
match. If you need to check on the match call me at 205-337-3237 or
205-979-4814 or send me your email and I will add you to the match
email list. If weather may be a threat I will send out an email the
night before the match.
We have time in the winter months for only 3 relays. This would be 4
to 8 shooters per relay depending on how we set the target banks up. If you are going to attend the match please contact me ahead of time
so that I have an idea of approximately how many shooters to set up
for.
I will be there before 7:30 AM to set up targets - HELP WILL BE
APPRECIATED
Shooters will be required to reset targets during the match and help
store targets after the match.
Registration will begin after targets are set.
Please arrive early enough to unload your equipment before the
mandatory safety meeting at 8:30. Do not handle rifles if shooters
are down range setting targets before the match.
The first round will need to be fired at 9:00 Am.
The match entry fee will be $25.
Eye and hearing protection is required on BGTC ranges. If you are
not a member of
BGTC
you must have a signed
BGTC
liability waiver on file to shoot. I will have the forms at the
match.
Each relay will be 4 shooters at 1 bank of ten targets or 8
shooters at two banks of 5 targets with swingers. You will need 40
rounds plus sighters. Bring a lunch and water, come prepared to stay
all day, 4 relays may take from 9am to 4pm.
We will be shooting Chickens at 200 yards off hand. The pigs at 300
yards, turkeys at 385 yards and rams at 500 yards will be shot from
a prone or sitting position. Bring a shooting pad and cross sticks.
The firing line is not covered at this time.
Awards will be bragging rights for 1st place.
